TRAVELING GUITAR AMBASSADORS

Stephen Campbell (Southern California)

A Southern California-based artist and his band, 3 Car Garage (3CG) is a popular regional act paying tribute to the great rock music of the 1970s, focusing on music made famous by artists such as The Allman Brothers, The Doobie Brothers, The Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Peter Frampton, Joe Walsh, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, Bob Seger, Ace, Foreigner, Toto, and many more.  He is also the founder and President of Bellwether Associates, a SoCal-based management consulting company.

Stephen has been married for 18 years and has two daughters, 12 and 16.  Referencing his support for the program, Campbell states,  “As the father of two girls who are deeply involved in music in school, I’m very excited to be supporting the Traveling Guitar Program and Make A Noise Foundation.  It’s a cause that’s close to my heart.”

Debbie King (Chattanooga, TN)

Debbie King is currently working as a Trauma Intensive Care nurse, but she has played music by ear nearly all her life. She started with the piano but hated it. At the age of 15 she read about the 70s chick group, FANNY [the first female band to win a contract with a major label (Reprise)] and  pleaded for a guitar. After receiving her cheap monster, the "Finger Eater," she taught herself to play and played in a variety of bands, trios, duets, solos, in clubs, coffee houses, anywhere..

Although she dropped out of all but casual playing for 18 years, she's now back playing with an orchestra and is one of the Traveling Guitar Program's ambassadors.

Gary Vachon (ME)

Gary grew up in Maine but traveled throughout the US, playing gigs. He started "gigging" during his early high school years, playing with bands, duos, trios, and even performing as a solo act.  This gave him experience in many different styles.  He has recorded a number originals that have had airplay in many parts of the US and abroad and his music can be heard on a couple of different CD compilations.

Gary says that music is a big part of his life. So between planning his next original CD and gigging, Gary has offered to become an ambassador for the Traveling Guitar Program.
